What You Should Know About Medicare Plan B
Prescription drugs are often expensive throughout the United States – and Omaha is not far behind – however, the economic impact is not too much if you have a Medicare Part B (Prescription drug plan) that may not only cover part of a drug, but it can reduce the cost to 100%, meaning you would not pay a thing.
Medicare drug coverage is optional and is offered to everyone who buys Medicare. If you decide not to include Part B in your coverage, and later you need to fill a prescription, there is a “late enrollment penalty”.
Each plan varies on the specific drugs covered, but these are some of the more common drugs covered by Part B: Opdivo, Rituxan, Humira, Enbrel, Remicade, Cimzia, and Prolia. The cost of this service varies depending on your income, but the premium cost is more than $170. But with this amount, you can get drugs that can cost more than $600.
Part B covers drugs and specific services such as ambulance, prosthetics, pulmonary or cardiac rehabilitation, hospitalization, surgeries, and others.
