Frequently Asked Questions

What you really want to know! Here are some of the most common questions we are asked. Please give us a call if you have another question or if you’d like to sign up for health insurance today: (402) 972-0820. We can help with that!

Q Are you able to help me in Des Moines, IA?

A Yes, we are licensed, ready and able to help residents in Nebraska and Iowa. We meet people in our office in Omaha or we travel to meet with them in Bellevue, Lincoln, Gretna, Grand Island, Columbus, Fremont and throughout Nebraska. We also meet with people in Council Bluffs, Des Moines, Iowa City and surrounding cities in Iowa. Help is just one phone call away. You call. We’ll bring the answers.

Q Is it true that we must sign up for Medicare when we turn 65 years old?

A If you are not covered under an employer’s group health plan for 20 employees or more, you will need to sign up for Medicare within a certain time frame. If you don’t sign up at the right time, you might experience a gap in coverage or need to pay a penalty (which may have a long-term financial impact). This is why we want to be sure you understand the timing and what it means to you in real terms for benefits and financial consequences. We want the best for you!

Q Once I am 65 and enrolled in Medicare, do I also need a supplement or is Medicare coverage enough?

A Many people are unaware that once they are 65 and on Medicare Parts A & B, they must also get another supplement policy and Part D (prescription drug coverage). We can explain this and the options that are available to you.

Q Can you help me understand what insurance and Medicare benefits I qualify for if I am getting Social Security benefits?

A Yes, we can explain that to you. We need to ask questions about your specific situation to let you know how the rules apply to you. It’s our job to help you understand what you are entitled to and decide on appropriate choices that will benefit you and your family.

Q Do you offer plans for veterans or people with disabilities?

A Yes, we offer amazing plans for veterans and any person on disability. There are helpful Medicare benefits for people who have health issues and disabilities for a length of time. We can help with this. We also specialize in helping people in the 63- 65 age range who have questions about Medicare and how to proceed.

Q Do we pay you for these helpful services?
A No, our services are free, and we specialize in creating an individualized experience to unravel the complexities of Medicare, supplements and other coverage. We use everyday language that explains what’s available and how it applies to your specific circumstances. We can discuss details with you and get you signed up and ready to enjoy the benefits.

Q Do you conduct any workshops explaining the process and plans?

A Yes, we have offered workshops and will do so again as soon as we can manage to meet safely as a group under CDC guidelines for COVID-19. In the meantime, give us a call at (402) 972-0820 . We are happy to safely help you individually.

Q Can you explain enrollment dates and what that means?

A Most insurance plans have specific enrollment (sign up) dates, generally from November 1 to December 15. Sign up for new or renewed coverage takes place during that time frame. However, there are a few exceptions. If you have a major life-changing event, such as a marriage or divorce, a new baby or adoption, loss of employment, a move out of state, or new immigration status, we can help you make changes as needed to accommodate your change of status. We can check to see if you qualify for a special event, and if so, we can proceed with the application.
